Early '80's Candymans are simply sublime.

typical (good) SBD for post april 82. the sbd's from may onwards typically have more bass, better mix etc

as far as the DEW the 'young man' verse is sung with authority, the 1st guitar break is good but the 2nd break, climax is probably the shortest post '69 and somewhat blase' as well, no 'fanning' etc phil is well represented in the mix and plays with some authority, does a couple of 'stops' etc

Subject: False start?
Me & My Uncle false start...boy, I haven't heard them do that since back in the early 70's. Refreshing to know they're still human and mess up every now and again. This is the first Throwing Stones and a pretty good debut.

Subject: Definitely Goin Down Feellin Bad
I was there. The arena was an old hockey ring. My friends and I sat in the penalty box. What I remember is tension between Bobby and Phil during the Spanish Jam. Phil wanted to launch into the Other One, but Bob kept going back to the Spanish Jam. So going down the road feeling bad was perfect. Overall Bobby and Jerry and Brent are great throughout, but Phil had an off night in my opinion. Still it was a pretty good show.

Subject: Wonderful Source for an 82
Often there is a muffled bass in these early 80's recordings- but not with this one- this is a rich and ambient recording- the playing is at a typical 82 level- that is to say above average-the Dew is a highlight for sure- the show is consistently good throughout without any one section surpassing another- a good listen and a very very good recording
